Message:
I did a search on Kabbalah a few
days ago and discovered your web site, I have spent some time reading through it.
It gave me a clear understanding as to what Kabbalah is about. It prompted some
questions:
1. Chaos theory Although mechanics and quantum physics tell us a great
deal about the way isolated bodies react, they are not effective once we start
to analyse complex systems containing millions of bodies, particles, etc.
In these cases we have to use an empirical and statistical approach.
The same to apply to human societies, which apparently reflect the average
of all the individual components. Thus a "good" society will
contain evil
individuals within it. A higher law of randomness seems to prevail.
Meteorology can tell us with some certainty what the weather
will be like over the next 12 hours, and with less certainty as to what
will happen a 24 hour period, beyond that it starts to be conjecture. It
is impossible to say which one of the myriad air currents will prevail at
any one time and will cause a certain weather type to materialize. Trying
to predict how human societies will react is in the realm of total
conjecture; we do
know that from time to time individuals arise who profoundly affect the
development of a society. It seems impossible a priori to predict which
individuals will become influential, and how their influence will make
itself felt on society as a whole.
This randomness, or chaos, is apparently a reality of the universe.
My question is: do the Kabbalists who have reached the highest levels have
anything to say on this topic?
My second question is a corollary to the first: do Kabbalists
wish to use their knowledge and abilities to influence the direction of
human affairs?
For example: if the numbers of people who study and practice
Kabbalah were to increase by several orders of magnitude, would this
begin to impact society as a whole? To amplify this: if as many as 10% of
the population
had experienced what you refer to as upper world reality, would this have
an effect upon how human society would conduct itself?
